so I'm playing a game last week with a couple people from work. We invited this girl that no one really likes but one of my buddies was stuck 2 hours away when his ignition went out so we were short a player. She was always bragging how she loved playing poker and was pritty good so we figured it was better to have a full game then not. So she comes over and the calls she made were flat out embarassing. I had to actually tell her "you know you cant bluff someone by calling them" after she called my 1000 (about 20% of what she started with) after the river card even though she was only in for like 400 and there was a broken straight on the table. When we flipped em she was like "damn i was trying to bluff you". As much as I like taking her money I was trying to be polite and hot take advantage of her but my buddy was not of the same mind set and shot her down within about 30 min. Don't think ill be inviting her again.
What is her name and number, I will invite her to all my games. In fact, I will be sitting at a $500 heads up table tonight, think she will join me?
If you really don't care for her personality, well that's one thing, but if she plays poker like that, I would love for her to be in the game! Just be ready for her to suck out every now and then....
Sounds like a buddy of mine. The other week we were playing for a few hours and Darren has a massive chip lead on the rest of us. The turning point for him (where it all went horribly wrong) was a hand against his brother. The board was showing 4 clubs and Darren decided to put Shawn all in with a substantial raise. Shawn calls immidiatly and flips over the Tc. Darren grimmaced and turned over his 2c. What was he thinking!!! Any club in play has him beat. We had a good laugh as he tried to defend his decision claiming he would make the same call in that situation every time. He is now the first person we call when trying to get a game going.
