Chips: 1,694 | | | Poker Robbery story in the Post (coming) Just got interviewed by the Washington Post about poker robberies in the area. An event that, fortunately, has not been part of my small stakes world. I told the fellow I'd ask around to see if anyone has actually been in a game that has been robbed or has direct knowledge of such. If you have such a story pm me and I'll shoot you his phone number. He's working on the story now so he's looking to interview immediately.

Even if they aren't reported, their intelligence units would probably have knowledge of such activities, since they're often gang-related, and would fall into the category of a home-invasion robbery. You could also try one of the internet sites that list home games, but I'm not sure those guys would appreciate being pointed out.
If there have been robberies, I'd think the cops would be the ones to ask.

Since this guy works at the Post, maybe he just needs to walk down the hall. |

However, it has happened in the past, so I would be careful about how public one makes their games (especially if there is considerable money in the room). Making a game somewhat public is a legal concern as well, but this is why a poker room can be good target - who is going to call the police when their illegal poker game is robbed. |

I belong to a poker club with about 250 members so we screen who can join and only members or invites can play in our games so we don't have to worry about getting robbed. |

I think opening a door to a gun in your face is uncommon where ever you live....
I did hear that in some parts of Canada if you dont raise the pot in French you might get arrested !!! ( this is a joke)
