Chips: 47 | | | I played with the GEmaco stars at a game a couple weeks ago, the worst cards I've ever seen. You could see through them if there was backlight and they were paper thin. I'm almost positive that those were the cards.
I just got my Arrows in the mail yesterday, I think they're nice, but I have a set of Fourniers that I might like a little more....this will probably change as I play with the Kems. The Kem's were a little warm from being in my mailbox and seemed almost too flexible, they are very similar in texture to the Fourniers.
Thanks for posting those, now I know to avoid the Gemaco's like the plague.
I've checked the reviews on these, these can't be that cardsI played with.

Chips: 546 | | Can someone clear this up? I've read reviews that the new USPC Kems have a more orangy red font on the and than the older Kems. Is this true? |

I've checked the reviews on these, these can't be that cardsI played with. | Yes, I don't think you were playing with Gemaco plastics if they were practically see-thru. If anything, Gemaco cards are too thick! They are the thickest cards I have, even thicker than the Modianos.
But Gemaco seems to have QC issues like the old Kems--I've seen three paint defects out of four decks. And the red Stars are not flat (a slight concave curve along the short axis). Seems like US companies can't get their act together when it comes to plastic cards.
So for now, my favorite cards are Dal Negro. |

Chips: 13,234 | | | Yeah, I've got the gemaco stars also and they are probably the thickest cards I've owned. Definitely couldn't see thru them. Are you sure the ones you were using were the plastic version (very slippery).

Are you sure the ones you were using were the plastic version (very slippery). | When I first saw the picture I subconsciously thought they were the same design. After further investigation there's no way in hell they are one in the same.
It must have bee a set of cards with a similar back design(although I don't think each set matched at the game I was at). The cards were horrible, the best way I can expalin them is that they were exactly like a well used cut card in a casino, flimsy, super plasticy, and shinier than chrome. Actually they were exactly like cut cards, but thinner. I was warned at the beginning of the game not to lift my cards too high or someone would see through them.
The deck was about 3/8" lying on the table, junk, total junk. I offered up my fourniers that were in my car, but I this game was like a $300 play money SNG at poker stars. All-in every hand, and callers to boot.
