New Kem Arrows

.

I know this topic has been covered a lot in the last ~6 months, but lets cover it again - I figure there has to be new info out there. Ok, so I get an e-mail from holdempokerchips.com saying that they have Kem Arrows, bridge size, from USPC Co. coming in soon. $21.99/double deck.

What is the verdict - has USPC started making them as good as Kem used too, yet? Eitherway, why are they so much less expensive now?

Trip,

At $21.99 these are not really cheaper. Kem Arrows sold arounfd this level
before Kem (the old company) discontinued making them and transfered
all their rights to USPC. The pricing you have been seeing the last 6 months+
is just a supply and demand issue. As they were not being made for the
last year the prices rose as some were willing to pay the higher prices
for them. Kind of like the Paulson Vineyards. You could have bought all
you wanted 1 year ago for $1-$1.25 ea., but demand pushed them much
higher. Where do you think the Vineyards woulb be if Paulson decided to
make 500,000 more of them.

As for the quality of them, I have only used a deck once in a game, this
will be my first chance to evaluate them closely, but I found no apparent
differences in them the first time I saw them

Excellent logic re: pricing. Thanks for posting Mike. I know someone is gonna ask this, so I might as well get it outa the way.... are you willing to post your decks serial numbers up for us? It seems that USPC has differing quality from deck to deck depending on their serial numbers.

I'll be oredering from you ASAP eitherway, as long as you have them in regular index. Should I wait until you update your website after they arrive.... and how do I tell what index size you have? Thanks again!

Also, I did manage to find the latest in chiptalk.net "new" Kem info here:

Trip,
They are all Bridge sized, regular index. That is all USPC has right now.
I am also getting a small order of Paisleys in the same.

Kem wide cards should remain high until USPC can get a supply of those into the market

I've been playing at B&M casinos lately that are using the "new" USPC Kem Casino cards. (I saw the Ace of Spades on the flop the other night ... against my K-K of course! )

I'm happy to report that the cards are excellent -- just like they've always been.

Don't know if this translates into the Arrows, but the USPC/Kems going to casinos are the quality we want. Somebody's makin' good cards.

We received our Kem order today.

Other than the smell that goes away quickly there seems to be no problems
with cracks, warping, or poor corner cut quality.

Both decks are the exact same height stacked next to each other

Lot # G6904

That is good to know. i will be trying out the new Kem Arrows again soon. Thanks for the report. Prices are good again, I won't pay the ridiculous price people were asking on Ebay.
