Which cards are best
Hello everyone!
If anyone is familiar with the cards used at Caesars Atlantic City's poker room, i am looking for a deck like that. I like that they are plastic and are stiff. The main thing is the stiffness. I have bought Kem Arrow before and they are plastic, but not stiff like what Caesars uses. Anyone know where i can buy poker cards like that? All replies are greatly appreciated.

Personally, I've always favored Copag's.
Apache is doing a sale on sets right now if you check this thread:

I use Copags also but they aren't very stiff. Modiano and Dal Negro cards are much more stiff feeling IMO.

Re: Which cards are best
"Best" is totally subjective. It all depends what you like. Cards, like chips, all have distinct characteristics: colors, feel, flexibility, slide-ability, back designs, pip designs, etc.
I prefer non-USPC KEMs, Modianos, Desjgns, and - if in a pinch - Copags.
If I had to choose I would choose bridge size/jumbo index but oddly enough don't really care that much about the size/index issue.

Re: Which cards are best
Funny you ask BRM. I have always been a diehard pre-KEM fan. Having tried fournier, cartamundi, and post-KEM's, I always came back to pre-USPC's as the "Best in Show", and still hold by this now. But the other day I dealt for a game with a setup of Copags, and I must say the were rather nice. I had never used or bought copags cause of the "flimsy" issues previously raised, but I did not think they were flimsy at all. Perhaps because the were broken in they felt sturdier. I did not favor the boxy index, or faded out appearance, and they were "chipping" color wise, but the table seemed to really love them. For the price I can seem myself buying a setup for my collection.
But to me feel is the important part of deck of cards. I love riffling, stripping, cutting, just card manipulation period. My biggest peeves about cards would have to be a super slippery decks, very stiff cards that don't riffle easily, and decks that don't push in together smoothly when gathering a riffle. Sorry look at me rambling, bottom line buy a couple of decks, try em and choose your fave, then sell the rest on ebay as I did. U may take a loss, but at least you'll have the card knowledge to know better in the future.
I truly believe that card rooms just get first class quality, cream of the crop, decks period. I may be wrong but the standard for card rooms is much higher than the retail market, or my experience in collecting tells me. Chasing that perfect card room deck is like chasing a rainbow.

Re: Which cards are best
I got a setup of ntp's that are pretty stiff and generally feel solid. I have also played with the gemaco star cards and they felt stiffer then copags, kems, Fournier, gemaco super flex.
I would recommend trying the modiano platinums. They are more expensive than most setups but are great. I have not played with pre-kems so cannot compare.

Get a cell phone photo of the cards next time.
And get a photo of the Ace of Spades card (if it gets dealt to you).
That may help us to identify them for you.

Re: Which cards are best
Bicycle Prestige brand cards are very good. Stiffer than Kems, yet still flexible.
Walgreens sell them.
Must say "Prestige" to get the plastic ones.
