"Highlanders" 1864 reproduction deck
Has anybody else seen these cards yet? Trident has them for sale here 1864 Poker Deck. They're a supposed true reproduction of American decks from the Civil War era complete with canceled tax stamps. Really cool and very different. The edges are not rounded, they have no pips, face cards have extraordinary expressions and the designs go all the way to the card edges. I highly recommend any true card connosieurs check them out. Here's a pic.

Very different, that's for sure. I do believe they're true to the originals and made of paper.

  Already there, my friend!
They're paper, by the way. I beat the edges on concrete for a bit and then carried them around in my pocket for a few weeks to get the "worn in" look for the photo-shoot. I highly recommend them and Trident both!

toad94 sent me a couple of these.. (thanks a lot again! ) these cards are amazing, but as he said they are sharp edged.. I loved bec. there are no numbers on cards and my poker mates are about to get mad at the end of 4th - 5th hours, trying to figure out which card they hold. loved them very much!

The price is certainly right. The design really evokes memories of reading awesome tales of old west and river boat gambling too.

Re: "Highlanders" 1864 reproduction deck
I stumbled on this website with some other reproduction historical card decks More Card Decks at FaroKing.com. The Parnell deck is calling me if for nothing else than the crazy jack figures.
