Hard Rock Casino "Aristo Club" Plastic Playing Cards. Got 'em. Mini Review below!

I have never heard of them, can't find anything on the internet and want to know if they are any good prior to buying them.

Anyone know anything about them? Where they are from or anything?

Thanks,
Couga

Re: Anyone Heard of "Aristo Club" Plastic Playing Cards?

I just pulled out a couple of decks of these from the box I had my old dice chips in yesterday. Does that tell you enough yet?

Paper, yuk. Wish they came in plastic.

Did they have this same box that said "Plastic Playing Cards"? They are from the Hard Rock Casino in London.

Pretty cool looking but it seems risky....

Thanks for the feedback so far.

Re: Anyone Heard of "Aristo Club" Plastic Playing Cards?

I went ahead and pulled the trigger on two decks. They are plastic but who knows how good they are? I will report when I receive them.

Here is a link to the sellers auctions.

HARD ROCK CASINO PLAYING CARDS, BUY 1`GET 1 FREE ORANGE - eBay (item 150244821226 end time May-17-08 11:56:29 PDT)

Has some cool HR London Roulettes by the rack for about $60.

If anyone gets the 2 for 1 of the orange decks let me know and I will trade one of my yellow decks for one of the orange decks.

I almost pulled the trigger on the chips too but he apparently already has everything packed or something as he wouldn't combine shipping.

Anyway post if you buy anything from this guy. I would stay away from his reading material though.

Re: Anyone Heard of "Aristo Club" Plastic Playing Cards?

So I received my 2 decks of Yellow Hard Rock cards from overseas today. Crazy fast shipping. The Shipping cost more than the cards but still the two decks cost me $10.50US total. This was a gamble in my opinion but it really paid off. These cards are friggin' sweet. I went back to eBay and bought another two sets from the guy.

Anyway the cards are in fact Plastic playing cards. I have only had them for about a day but think that this is one of the better buys for the price out there.

The cards are made in Japan but they feel very much like Modanio's. They are much firmer than Copag but less firm than Piatnik, which puts them in the Modanio area imo. The cards a little bit thinner as well. When set sid by side with the Piatnik you can take 6 cards off the Piatnik deck to get to the same height stacked as the Aristo cards. This is neither good or bad IMO, just different. The card faces also resemble Modiano's. The pips are on a beige field inside the white outter area (see the 10 in the pic below). The Face cards are pretty standard and the Jokers are not too shabby either. The artwork on the back of the cards can't be beat if you are a fan of the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.

The only thing that bugs me is that they come in a cheap paper case, so I am going to have to buy something to put them in. The cards are first quality and haven't been cancelled in any way.

All things considered these cards are a steal at $10 per setup shipped.

If you buy from the seller on eBay be sure to click on one of his "2 for 1" auctions for your best value. Those generally are the Yellow and Orange colors but I can vouch for the Yellows at least. They are AWESOME.

Pics below.

Side by Side with Piatnik. These are both Poker width cards. As you can tell from the Ace they are Jumbo index.

Here are the face cards and the Jokers.

And finally the extra useless cards. I included these because of the "2004" calandar and the "fine print" on the other card that made me laugh.

Anyway, I will get a more formal review going but if anyone is in the market for some quality cards, give these a shot.

If you are interested they can be found here: eBay Seller: internetoasis: Casino, Bath Body items on eBay.com
