A player got upset at losing a hand and threw down his cards and broke off the corner of the Ace . I thought these cards were supposed to be built to last! Anyway, I purchased them from Trident, and sent a email to Trident. I'm hoping they will give me a new card and that I don't have to deal directly with DN in Italy.

Sorry to hear about that. I've read about the same issue over at HPT:
Unreal. The plastic card market really sucks now. The new KEMS are crap. These DN's crack so easily. This was the second game in which I had used them. They got maybe 5 or 6 hours of play. I purchased a couple of Modiano decks, but they came bowed out of the box. I sticking with Copags. At least until they crack, crip, or otherwise get damaged.
I don't know what you people do to cards. I have a setup of DN acetates with over 1000 hours on them. One card got dented with a fingernail. The same player dented a Fournier card the same night. That player hasn't been back and my cards have held up. I've tested all of my cards and DN are about second hardest to dent with a fingernail. I can pitch cards very hard and can knock over chips stacks if I try and I have. No cracking.
The easy solution to your problem is to charge the player who damaged the card the full price of a new setup. It is amazing how a $21 accident doesn't happen a second time.
There is no perfect card, but I always come back to my DN acetates. The Modiano acetates have a nice texture, but are just too thick and stiff, just like any other Modiano.
