Did you sent them in directly or did you get in contact with USPC before? I am just asking because they won't reply to my emails like in sgav8r's case and I'm about to just sending them to the aforementioned address.

Re: Scratched KEM cards....

This thread is starting to freak me out. I've had a set of Copags for probably 3 or 4 years now. The color is fading on them, but otherwise they are still in tip-top shape. But I just bought a wide set of black/gold KEMS.

After reading this thread, I went through them. I found no scratches. The entire set sits flat (no bowed or bent cards). They appear to be in great shape. But we'll see. I'm hosing a tournament this Saturday and I plan to put the KEMS into service.

Previous to this thread I would just assume that they would hold up just fine... now I'll be keeping my eye on them to see what happens.

Re: Scratched KEM cards....

I don't recommend even trying to email USPC, guys. You're likely to get no response at all.

Just call the direct number on their website: 513-396-5700 and tell whoever answers what your problem is. They'll transfer you to the appropriate person. Once I called them, I found out they're actually pretty friendly and helpful. I don't know what it is with them and emails though!

More troubling still is the inconsistent quality of their product. Needless to say, I don't plan on buying anymore KEM cards in the near future. Yeah, it was nice that they gave me some free set-ups, but there's still inconsistencies in quality among the decks I was sent. I can live with them but I still get a little annoyed when I think of the price the cards command!

True about faded look of Copag cards, but I still love 'em. Try Modiano, they're what's been getting the most use in my games lately. All my regulars favor them as well, particularly the Modiano Poker Index. Fine, fine cards.

So true. After about 2 weeks of waiting I sent my letter including the marked cards and some side notes to Cincinnati yesterday. Let's see what happens. I hope they care for their foreign customers also. I could not believe that they won't reply to emails but now I know better. It's very sad to hear that this company not only bought KEM but also Fournier. Never tried Fournier cards (3 decks are on their way!), but from what I heard they are (or were?) known for exceptional quality cards also.

If it must be KEM, then I guess I stick to KEM casinos in the future.

Re: Scratched KEM cards....

Well - one night (about 5 hours) of non-stop card action and my Kems held up just fine. Admittedly, 5 hours is nothing, but based on some of the things I've read here, it could've been plenty of time for flaws to show up.

Obviously I'll keep a close eye on them, but I'm hoping I got lucky here.

Re: Scratched KEM cards....

Since the USPC takeover, KEM hasn't done anything to convince me that I should use their cards versus their competition's cards, let alone pay the higher price. I'm a COPAG guy until something makes me feel otherwise, then I'll use somebody else's cards, but certainly not KEM. I do wish the best of luck to anybody who does purchase a deck of KEMs!
