Chips: 2,070 | | | What is more important? Back design or security ink. Hello,
I decided to get some Dal Negro cards. Unfortunately I don't really like the Freedom back design, but love the security ink of them. The Carpet or Star back design is pretty nice, but they don't come in security ink. So I need to decide which component is more important.
Yeah I know, get both. But it's still different cards, so the basic decision stands even when I have them both.
What do you think is more important? |

So I don't give much about security ink.

I was under the impression that security ink was just so the "eye in the sky" could get a clearer shot of the cards (something about the contrast of the dark red being easier to pick up on the cameras). Is there some other reason besides video surveillance that makes security ink more secure? |

Chips: 502 | | | Re: What is more important? Back design or security ink. I also prefer cards with darker reds...they make the cards look classier (IMO). So although I have no real concerns of cheating in my game, I would pick cards with security ink red indices over cards with brighter red indices.
Here are some other cards besides Dal Negro's that have "security ink"...not as dark as DNs but deep red colors along the same lines:
1 - Fournier 2800 series Jumbo index (poker width cards)
2 - NTP Black Jack Jumbo (poker width cards)
3 - NTP Jumbo index bridge size cards
Both NTP and Fournier are every bit as good as Dal Negro's (excluding the acetates) so if you like their back design better, you should try them. I would take the Fournier's over the NTP only because I had some quality control issues with one of my setups but am hoping it's an isolated case.
Cards in the middle:
1- Modiano Poker Club Jumbo index (poker width cards) which have "a nice rich color red perfectly situated in-between bright red and security ink red".
Edit: I left out Desjgn cards.
2- Desjgn cards - prettiest card faces around and they also have that in the middle red on the hearts and diamonds.

The security ink feature figure in less with me when purchasing cards. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
