Chips: 12,759 | | | I could not believe how expensive COPAG Cards are in Brazil! I have had the recent good fortune to visit a few different cities in Brazil and, as a crazy poker nut, I thought it might be cool to search out some COPAG cards to bring home as a nice souvenir of my travels. It wasn't too hard to find any, but after an extensive amount of shopping around I was quite surprised to discover two things:
1. I couldn't find any designs not already available in the United States through various online retailers.
2. COPAG Cards are FREAKIN' EXPENSIVE if you try to buy them in Brazil. I was stupefied to discover the same setup of cards I can buy and have shipped to my home for about $16.00 while shopping from the comfort of my home would have cost me about $50.00 to buy from a store in Brazil.
I know we are living in a globalized economy, but it is completely nuts to think a product would cost over three times more for customers in their home country as compared to the same product exported to a foreign country.
Long story short, I skipped the souvenir and decided to save my money for online shopping at home. Crazy.

I am not saying the entire country is impoverished, but plastic cards would seem "high end" to me... |

He shopped around looking for a good deal on various aged single-malts, and found that they're cheaper purchased in Ontario through our government-regulated liquor store (who is one of the biggest purchasers of liquor in the world, I might add) than to purchase them in Scotland. He came home empty-handed, and then spent $600 on a couple of bottles at Summerhill (Torontonians know what I'm talkin' 'bout), and claimed to have saved a couple hundred... |

Dice chips online $25.00 , dice chips at the place down the street $125.00(and the clerk told me they actually sell them).
It happens in the US also. Specialty stores often sell things 3-4 times what you can find them for elsewhere because there are still people who don't research before they buy.

A guy who runs an online shop can store the chips in his garage if he wants.
