Yet another defect with my Kems...

Wow, I guess I wasn't meant to own a set of Kems...I won an auction off of Ebay for an "excellent" condition used once set of Casino Kems. Well I noticed on several of the cards little white spots which appear to be ink missing and a large chunk of an eight missing off of the eight of clubs. I think the 4 of hearts has a line through one of the hearts as well. I only paid $12.00 but these Kems shouldn't be in this shape for a set used once supposedly. They seem to have been made in 2006 and retired on 4/17/07. Now granted the seller could have been deceiving me and that these cards could have well been used more than once but I mean come on only a year old and already all these imperfections? I am still waiting on my Kem Pantheons replacement decks from USPC it has been 2 weeks since I returned them..2 strikes for Kem so far...Should I even give them a third chance? All I know is that I will be using my Dal Negro Acetates tonight for my game that I picked up a few months ago before they sold out

Re: Yet another defect with my Kems...

With the problems Kems are having, I wouldn't even consider buying a used setup unless I've actually played with them.

Kems are now #1 on the buyer beware list for plastic cards.

Re: Yet another defect with my Kems...

I have to say I would listen to ky70 for anything to do with cards, and I also have 2 kem decks with problems, one pre and one post uspc. The former is becoming more and more seriously warped (I have KEM decks from the 50s and 60s that are less warped) and the latter has a large piece of the 5 that just snapped off playing a non poker game where the cards aren't even subject to any of the bending etc that poker would involve.

Re: Yet another defect with my Kems...

So would Kem even replace these defective cards even though they are casino cards and not the cards sold to home consumers? I doubt I'm going to get anywhere with the seller on EBay, but he did advertise in excellent condition. To me excellent condition doesn't mean chunks of numbers missing...

So far I agree I had nothing but trouble with Kems...I have 2 sets of Dal Negro one Acetate and one not and they are awesome. I also have Modianos and Copags and not one problem....So much for Kem being the best eh?

Re: Yet another defect with my Kems...

The seller agreed to swap the bad deck with a good deck. Not to beat a dead horse but after this I am done with Kems...
