Chips: 884 | | | WSOP cards...Bridge size? I just recieved my official tournament wsop cards in the mail and saw that they were bridge size. I was a little confused so I inspected pictures on getty images, comapring card sizes to the chips. I did the same comparing my chips to the wsop cards and it looks to be true. I think they are bridge size. Can anyone clarify this to me please.
Also Does anyone know the starting $10,000 chip break down to the wsop ? |

You'll find that they're using bridge size at all of the poker tables (just as they do in the Nevada casinos) and it's pretty much the standard size used in most poker venues including all of the poker shows that you see on TV.
The WSOP is a series of 40+ different tournaments held over a period of about 6 weeks (at least that's how long it took this year, maybe even longer next year) in Las Vegas. Additionally there are satellite tournaments (they may be called "Circuit Events" now) held at various Harrah's properties thoughout the country. Since you mentioned $10K, you're probably thinking of the World Championship Event, as there were only two $10K buy-in events this year, that one and the Pot Limit Omaha event. |

Also Does anyone know the starting $10,000 chip break down to the wsop ? | Assuming you're talking the Main Event, something like:
1 5000 chip
3 1000 chips
2 500 chips
8 100 chips
8 25 chips
But I stand to be corrected by someone with more/better knowledge.

lol, i have a funny story from last night, played with guys i've known for a while, but hardly ever play with mostly because they are all donks, and 7 donks at a table is not good. anywho, one of their friends came, and he picked up the decks of Modiano Bridge Size Plastics, and said, what are we playing bridge? then said, who brought the cheap cards? lol. i wanted to point out to him how stupid he was, instead i just took his money |

Do bear in mind that many people with whom you play poker may not play in commercial cardrooms, and their experience with cards in a full fledged casino may be limited to the main casino floor where paper poker sized cards are used (e.g. blackjack.) As such, they're probably not aware that bridge sized cards are used in the poker room, or in commercial cardrooms. Quote: |
