Johnny5 and I have been working on a design collaboration (J5 on the "design part" and me on the "collaboration") for the ChipTalk.net Store. The design is for a ChipTalk.net dealer button. I think it has turned out great, and J5 has said that he's very happy with it too. We want to know what you think?
Problem is, just as we were finishing the design, Chipco announced that it will allow NO MORE chips for the home market larger than 39mm. This includes business card chips, plaques, and octagons.
So we are looking for another way to get this produced.
What about those places that make coins, or how about some type of resin? I am not sure about the quality of either, but it might be worth looking into!

My google skills are working poorly right now so I can't find a good link but when I was in high school I worked one summer at a printing company that made advertising boards. Basically it was an adhesive label pressed onto a surface and cut to fit, but it was VERY strong with the adhesive and the pressure that attached them. If the button was big enough (3") you could probably do something like that and get whatever graphics you want printed. I don't know if 2-siding is a problem or not, it was only a summer job.
Oh, and I think this new dealer button should cost exactly 78 ChipTalk.net chips (now that I've reached my limit for today!)
and got a lot of decent looking places. Don't think of it as a "dealer button", think of it as a promo item some business might give away.
You definitely want it "debossed" and not just printed. if it's printed the design would go away rather quickly being slid around a poker table. debossing is basically like an engraving (opposite of embossing). it would probably work if there was just a raised edge all the way around the perimiter so that the printing never touched the felt.
To be honest, I think its a bit too colorful/busy for me. The word 'dealer' is getting lost in all the graphics. I think I'd switch around dealer and chiptalk.net. Put Dealer in the center and either 2 or 3 chiptalk.net's around the edge.
