some stackable drink carts

thx to ikea and an ebay seller.

10 of these things only take up 4 sq feet of floor space (2 stacks of 5each).

started with 10 of these:

IKEA | Coffee & side tables | Side tables | RIAN | Side table

and added 20 of these:

10 3.5" Stainless Steel Cup Holder for Poker Table Boat - eBay (item 200199789732 end time Feb-15-08 19:45:00 PST)

ended up with these:

i added foam blocks to the bottom of each cart to allow them to still stack with the cupholders installed -- and not add any weight.

Re: some stackable drink carts

Nice work. I saw those at the Ikea by me. I was going to use the rolling end table/night stands they sell for $20 but those definitely take up more space and are probably more expensive. I assume cutting the holes for the cup holders was relatively painless. Great idea using the foam for stacking
J

BTW- nice chairs stacked and wrapped - are those the extras?

Re: some stackable drink carts

I love these. The table I built has a racetrack with drink holders but I would love to have some moveable drinks carts. Thanks for the heads up.

a 3.5" hole saw plus a quick hit with the router and they are nice and snug.

most of those chairs will be used. i think i only have 8 extras at this point.

Re: some stackable drink carts

One thing I forgot to mention-- I found small metal bowls at Ikea for around $3. If I measured corredtly they are 4" across at the top. I was planning on using them as snack bowls and cutting an insert for those too. a 3.5" hole saw would work perfectly so they would fit snug but be easy to take out to clean.

What about the chairs? Maybe another good deal you would like to share with us? I need to get about 8 of those.
