I am not so happy with my 66.7mm racks, though apparently they are the closest thing you can get to a real paulson rack. (Yeah I know... I know... nothing compares to a paulson rack.)
So I've resorted to using regular racks with one or two spacer chips to keep things snug. (two spacers if they are worn paulsons, like the used Ambassadors from Nevada Jack's.)
But this is the first I've heard of Chipco racks-- how do these work for paulsons and where do you get them?
You can get Chipco racks at HPC (Holdempokerchips) for something like 10 racks for $25 + shipping.
I dont have any myself, so if someone has some, mind telling us how Paulsons fit in them?
On a side note, i have heard that Bud Jones racks are some of the best. Paulsons fit in them snugly and the main difference is that the bottom of the rack doesn't have the two plastic tabs that many fear will dig into the chips the rack is on top of.
Yeah I'm pretty sure the 66.7 racks that are sold by different distributors as "Paulson racks" all come from the same manufacturer. They are not so great:
1. Cups are irregular, meaning that 20 mint chips might not comfortably fit.
2. Cups "scoop" in the corners, so the end chips in each stack of 20 are pushed up a couple millimeters. To me it's a big issue for mint chips, but it's not noticeable for well-worn chips.
3. The dividers between cups are sometimes sharp. So when a stack rotates in a cup, the divider is actually shaving the rolling edges!
These rack are pretty expensive... so it's surprising how poor they are.
