Since I added the Plasma, my son and I watch all of our TV in the basement. The wife complains every once in a while that we don't spend time together when we are at home. My response is to tell her that we need to replace the 32" TV in the FR with a 50" Plasma, at that point she tells us to go back to the basement.
We bought the house 2 years ago (it was 3 years old then) and the basement was finished. We moved in right after Halloween and on the day after x-mas I started cutting holes in the walls to run cables for the TV, speakers, and network. Hired a guy to do some wood work (wainscoting, bar ledge, desk, and crown molding ) and electrical in January We finished the TV/Speaker work in February, and the drywall repair, painting and carpet were done the first week in March. The pool table and couch came in after that and we had a huge party for St Patty's day!
We have a poker game at my place at east once a month, sometimes twice and in the winter we play pool and drink beer (there is a kegerator in the unfinished room) at least once a weekend. We had a Superbowl Party last year that was a blast
