I want to see if anyone is interested in making this item (probably a limited market but it is worth a discussion.)
I got this idea from the mah jongg "wind" indicator (see the round green thing in the picture). Basically it is a cube (or die if you prefer) that is housed in a round cylinder. The 6-sided die could be removed by turning the cylinder upside down (the bottom of the cylinder has no opening so the die won't fall out if you lift the cylinder straight up.
It would be perfect for a HORSE game (maybe 2 dice could cover all the games) with the abbreviations covering each face.

It seems most companies charge "per custom side", so multiply most prices you see by 6. Depending on size, material, and the way they're customized (i.e. laser engraving vs. custom mold), they'd probably be ~ $10 each in bulk. If anybody can beat that price (or knows where you can get custom dice cheaper), post here!
I then remembered a HORSE home tourney where one of our friends raised on fourth street with KK showing. I was confused why he even called a bet on third, but it became more obvious when I said "You know this is Razz, right?" and he then said "Oh! Do you guys mind if I fold instead of raise then?" (We let him.)
I've thought about this and ceramic plaques for HORSE indicators. To be honest, I'm too picky. Ceramic plaques are too small and I just don't like the die idea. I think I'll just have a friend make inlaid wood plaques about 3.25"x5.5"x.25".
