Chips: 481 | | | Any notice the Chiptalk Pokerpadz mouse pad REEKS!?! I just got a brand new CT pokerpadz mousepad in a trade. Boy oh boy, I opened up the sealed package and the smell hit me like a ton of bricks. It smells somewhere inbetween burning rubber and a week old Copenhagen spitter.
I tried to air it out overnight outside and also used some of this stuff my wife bought that is supposed to eliminate odors. Neither worked worth a lick.
Anyone else notice this smell? How did you get rid of it?

I don't have any first hand experience with these mouse pads specifically, but I've heard of this problem with some brands of mouse pads. One technique that I read about was to put the mouse pad in a bag with a fabric softener sheet (like bounce). Let me know if that method helps or if it's an old wives tale!

The worst thing ever was the 96" vinyl table cover i got from 5stardeal, I put it on my 96" table in the garage, and the smell was so bad you couldnt breath the air in there.

Now cover two tables with these, in your living room, before going to bed that night.
I was gasping for air when I woke up the next day.
Those things should come with a warning tag. |

L | LOL.... I did indeed get the pad, thanks for the trade! It's great. I just gotta let it sit outside for a while.
I will try the dryer sheet idea. Thanks Gene!

I think mine is finally to the point of not reeking anymore. Febreze, and all that other stuff will just be overwhelmed by the outgassing of whatever noxious chemicals are in these things! But they look great!
