Chips: 1,513 | | | Sound Issues with TD Hey there. I am having sound issues with Tournament Director. I first thought it was the computer I had it loaded on, but now I realize that I can't hear sounds on any machine that i load this onto.
Any suggestions?
I do plan on sending some money to the writer tomorrow, but I wanted to check with the CT members to see if anybody else had the same issues!
Thanks! |

Chips: 9,215 | | | Re: Sound Issues with TD This is a common TD problem. Windows media player has to be the default .wav player for your system. Lots of programs (ie iTunes, RealPlayer) make themselves the default audio player.
This is in the FAQ or Troubleshooting section at the TD website.
You will also need to disable any screensaver.
Hope this helps.

Last time I emailed (couple days ago) him he said the new version would be out soon. |

Chips: 638 | | | Re: Sound Issues with TD I have TD on 2 computers. It works fine on the stand alone. I've tried everything on the laptop with no success. It does me little good to have it on the stand alone. Being of minimal smarts when it comes to the inner workings of a puter it took a while to get it to retain windows media as the .wav player. It keep changing back everytime I changed it.
Today is the first that I've heard no screen savers allowed. I'll try that, and see if it helps.
I also emailed for help and got a very shot answer back. I'm not cheap by any means, and will glady send some $$$ to the writer, IF I GET THE IMPRESSION HE IS WILLING TO HELP ME CORRECT THE PROBLEM. |

Chips: 2,131 | | | Re: Sound Issues with TD Personally I've never had problems with the original version of TD, sound or otherwise. Running it on three different machines, all with different builds, no problems ever encountered.
Secondly, I have no doubt that Coery will do whatever he can to help with your problem, and I don't blame him for spending his efforts to help those that have donated, although i also got good support before that.
Version 2 is in beta at the minute, and is just awesome. Still trying to work my way through all the variations possible, but Corey has clearly put massive effort into it.
TD is a great product, and my suggestion would be to put $5 at risk to get support on it. If you think that its useful, then donate more, if not, then I dare say you won't miss the cash. |

I had sound issues too for a while. Would never play. Then all of the sudden one day they started working. Wierd. So far so good.

Chips: 8 | | | Re: Sound Issues with TD I run TD on a laptop here, and a buddy of mine also runs it on his laptop with no problems. I finally broke the curse of the new table and figure it's about time to send a some $ for a great program (just sent it).
I have only used it 5 nights myself but the overall response from the rest of the players is very positive, no negative feedback. I now find that players always know what the blinds are, and keep an eye on when they are going up. The chip colors on the screen also help when playing with non demomination chips. When playing multi table it might be nice to output TD to a TV... I know some are doing that now and I might have to look into it for next time. |

Strange, It has nothing to do with $5.00 I've used it once, like it, want it to work, and sure as hell would send more then $5.00 (if i get it to work). I understand that there are probably a TON of freeloaders out there. I myself would not consider a person that downloaded it on a Monday, used it on a Tuesday, sent an email asking for help on a Wed, a freeloader. Right now I'm saving my $$$$ to pay for the operation to get my nuts back where they belong from carrying the towered pc around from table to table while I try and get sound on the laptop.
I'll still take and suggestions on getting the sound to work |

Chips: 4,115 | | | Re: Sound Issues with TD I've had very good response from Dr. Neau on several different issues that I've had. And I'm still running the free version (I want to give it one go 'round live before I donate. But I don't anticipate any problems, or any reason not to give).
Anyway, my suggestion would be to email him. I've always got a response within a day, if not the same day.
I run a multi-table in different rooms. I am toying with the idea of 'braodcasting' the TD using a low voltage transmitter... But the only one I've found so far has been $100. Anyone done this? Anyone have ideas/suggestions?
