It's a brief part of the orgasm scene from "When Harry Met Sally."

I use it to indicate blind changes. By the middle of the tourney, someone always says "it's been a while since I heard that sound four times in one evening."

Re: Sound Issues with TD

I have also had this problem. Last weekend, I was running a tourney and the alarm didnt sound at the end of the first level.

I clicked on the sounds tab in setup (while the tourney was still running). I then reloaded the sound template and that solved the problem.

Re: Sound Issues with TD

The problem that you are going to have is that the resolution of a TV (even a HDTV) is much lower than what your computer is probably running. I have put my computer out to TV before to do just what you are trying to do and I found it much easier to just use two different computers.

VNC server and VNC viewer are both free programs that work very well for remote desktop access and still have control over the main machine from any of the remote machines. The most I have had hooked up has been five computers. The main machine running TD and four other laptops near the other tables that I had going. I could control the TD program from any of the remote machines. This was all over a 802.11b network so it was a slow network at that (10mbit vs 100 or 1000 for wired).

That got me to thinking that you could do the same thing with a laptop, and a TV in a second room.

I checked the internet and saw transmitters that broadcast from TV to a computer (so you could watch TV on your computer), but nothing that specifically went the other way. The easy solution is to run cables between the two, but I'm sure it can be done wirelessly... That's why I was soliciting suggestions to figure it out. Someone else must have done this somewhere, right?

Re: Sound Issues with TD

Did you check Neau's clip page? There are some good sound bytes there:
  • Bust out: Willy Wonka saying, "You get nothing! You lose! Good day sir!"
  • Go to break: The ESPN World Series of Poker "going to commercial" slide guitar riff
And from the Rounders movie clip page
  • Buyin: MIKE: Gimme three stacks of high society.
  • Bust out: KNISH: Happens to everyone. Time to time, everyone goes bust. You'll be back in the game before you know it.
  • Bust out: ROY: That's the fourth time you done played that ***** of spades on my ass.
  • Bust out: MIKE: Well, you feeling satisfied now, Teddy? 'Cause I can go on busting you up all night.
  • End of Tournament:TEDDY: He beat me...straight up. Pay him...pay that man his money.

And from Internet Movie Database.com
  • Tournament start: Teddy KGB: Let's play some cards!
  • Bust out: Teddy KGB: It hurts doesn't it? Your hopes dashed, your dreams down the toilet. And your fate is sitting right besides you.
  • Bust out: Taki: What did you think he had? Does he look like a man beaten by jacks?
  • Bust out: Mike McDermott: It's immoral to let a sucker keep his money.

Re: Sound Issues with TD

I have the solution for the sound problem with TD.

This may be a little late since version 2 I believe is just around the corner.

Here is what you do.

Go to the the add/remove programs section of windows (start, settings, control panel, add/remove programs).

Select the Set program access and default from the left

under what ever settings is selected (custom on mine) there is a default media player section

select windows media player

Press ok and the sound should start working again.

Spicy!
