I have a tourney on sunday night and I think we will go to two tables (in different rooms) for the first time.
BTW I have played with the beta for TD 2.0 and I think the sound issues will go away entirely. It is, however, a MUCH more complicated program. Also more powerful, but non nearly as easy to use.

I myself would not consider a person that downloaded it on a Monday, used it on a Tuesday, sent an email asking for help on a Wed, a freeloader. Right now I'm saving my $$$$ to pay for the operation to get my nuts back where they belong from carrying the towered pc around from table to table while I try and get sound on the laptop.
I'll still take and suggestions on getting the sound to work | No, you are quite right, if you can't get it to work, and the writer won't help, why would you donate? Totally fair point.
Diagnosis of sound problems always starts with the blindingly obvious:
1. Do other applications create sound properly?
2. Have you adjusted the sound files in any way or are you ruunning default?
3. Are you running all standard microsoft stuff, or have you played about with it in the past? (deleted modules etc) I strongly suspect that TD expects a very standard Windows build. |

Chips: 446 | | | Re: Sound Issues with TD I had this problem with TD as well. I rolled back my version of Windows Media Player to the previous version and it fixed the problem. Might give that a try.
I've since switched to Dr. Neau Tournament Manager and really like it. Well worth the $10 per quarter fee if you have multi-tables, leagues, and want to customize the set-up. There's a bit of a learning curve with it at first, but once you figure that out it's a great program. The other nice thing with Dr. Neau TM is that it's java-based so you can run it on both Mac and PC. |

I do this for my multi-room tournaments and it works great.
I was a little iffy on subscribing as well. I did the one-time payment so I could play around with the full-program and see if I thought it was worth the money and have since renewed for two quarters. Overall I'm very happy with the program.
Hope that helps - marc |

Hope that helps - marc | I tried Dr N as well, and for some reason that I now can't remember didn't get on with it. I'm definitely going to give it another try given the info here. thanks. |

2.I'ved tried doing both, there is no difference
3. Dell inspiron 2200, just the way it came from the factory. |

It looked like a radio shack model. Anyway, he hooked it up to his VCR and played porn for three nearby dorms. That is, until the FCC took an interest.
That got me to thinking that you could do the same thing with a laptop, and a TV in a second room.
I checked the internet and saw transmitters that broadcast from TV to a computer (so you could watch TV on your computer), but nothing that specifically went the other way. The easy solution is to run cables between the two, but I'm sure it can be done wirelessly... That's why I was soliciting suggestions to figure it out. Someone else must have done this somewhere, right?

I might end up *having* to do two machines, though lugging my desktop into one of the rooms, just to lug it back at the end of the night, is not something I look forward to...

It works very out very well. The sound (when working) only is on the main TD machine through. Quote: |

Anybody know where I can get Rounder's sound bites???
Anybody got any other good suggestions for sounds?? | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
