Chips: 222 | | In our group of about 150 players probably a good 50-60% of the players wear sunglasses regularly including me.
We still have fun home games but I actually find that in some homes I need the sunglasses with the crappy spot/track lighting that some people have. But I like winning money and the sunglasses help my game obviously since I money 2-3 times a week.
Our group may be different though, for instance we've been running qualifier tourneys for a $300 entry 10,000$ tourney for the past 5 months. Most home game groups don't do that.
That and I look really damn good in my Oakleys. |

Chips: 13,958 | | | Nobody so far - I do not think that I would be able to stop laughing at them if they did.
Heck - I was ribbing one guy at the 3/6 tabel in vegas for wearing them. IT'S 3/6 BUDDY.
Seriously - if for some reason the poker gods were smiling and I won my way into a major - THEN I would wear shades. Heck - probably a ski mask and full hazmat suit so that they could not see anthing. But until that happens - not really necesary. |

Chips: 934 | | Actually, what I'd like to see - or try - is rather than wearing sunglasses, get some designer contact lenses that make your eyes look like tiger eyes or whatever.. Still lame, sure, but better than sunglasses.. |

Chips: 1,818 | | | Forget the sunglasses - I could care less if people wear them.... its the people with the ipods/mp3 players that get me going.
"Whats the bet?" "Is action on me?" - take off the headphones please!!!

Chips: 245 | | I and one other regular wears em once in a while, but its more for a goof than anything else. Its kinda funny since were the two tightest players in our core group. Plus, it gets on ppls nerves when theyre tilting (TAKE THOSE THINGS OFF!!) |

Chips: 107 | | | If you (anyone) would wear sunglasses in a BIG tourney/game, why wouldn't you wear sunglasses in a smaller game/tourney? Any hand I play, I play seriously; I try my hardest and I want to win or at least make the best decision possible.
If I'd wear glasses at a big game, I'd wear them at smaller games. I dont know about the rest of you, but my $25 14 man tourneys are damn important to me. That $10 sit and go online is damn important.
I've wore glasses before; they make me focus a little better, kinda like filtering out the "visual noise" for me. When I want to hide, I pull my hat down lower. |

Chips: 4,436 | | As much as I wanted to select the mission from God option, I stuck with reality and voted that none of us do.
However, last month I broke out some leftover novelty glasses from my son's 5th birthday party. It was really funny and disturbing at the same time, but only lasted one hand since it was nearly impossible to see our cards. |

Chips: 1,071 | | | I started wearing sunglasses when a couple friends pointed out one of my tells.
My eyes light up when I get good cards.
So yes I wear sunglasses when I play for any reasonable amount of money - usually in $1 $2 no-limit and tournaments.
At Caesars Indiana on the Limit tables I don't wear them. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
