The first one took a few hours, because I had to:
a) record the chipsounds, slice out the best segments of those sounds
b) write a program to resample the sounds (I used Native Instruments Reaktor for this)
c) calibrate (tune) the pitches
d) create the .wav file (I used Cubase VST32 as a sequencer/recorder)
e) convert to .mp3
Once the first was done, it took about 15 minutes to create the second one.
