A challenge for Chip Castle builders

In another forum someone posted this guy's penny structures, and he has some pyramids. Not as cool as some structures, but of course it led me to...

... challenge someone with the Chipco Egyptians to do the Pyramid.

I would do it, but i don't have enough chips....

That is a big pyramid....

over 3000 chips (3080 if my math is correct) and over 50 plaque's.. !! Must have taken you quite a while to build..

Actually, there's about 2744 chips. Only 1496 can be seen. The interior is not solid -- it has a kind of 3D lattice structure of columns. The octagons came in handy for the interior. It took 2 hours to build. Most of the time was spent assembling those striped stacks of 8. It'll probably take 2 more hours to sort the chips and put them away.
