J Factor - Poker Chip Trick

J Factor
Tutorial
The beginning grip for the J Factor is very similar to the grip of the twirl. You begin by holding three chips between the ring and middle finger. I have found the most comfortable and sturdy place to hold the chips would be just before the first knuckle, but this is personal opinion.
The first step to the trick is also very similar to the twirl, however instead of dropping the middle chip down, using your thumb raise the middle chip above the others, rolling it up on your middle finger.
Now, with the middle chip separated from the others, and while still being gripped between the thumb and middle finger, flip it 180 degrees towards your gripping hand with the index finger.
After flipping the chip, it will most likely be outside the slot that it came out of, which is what we want. What makes this trick different from the twirl is the freeing up of the thumb allowing for increased dexterity. That being said, the next step is to literally pick up the separated chip with your thumb and index finger and place it back in between the other two, sliding it into it’s original slot. The trick is now done, but can be repeated for as long as you can hold onto the chips.
Note #1
While performing this trick you must not forget to keep a tight grip on the two chips that remain stationary. If you don’t there will be no slot left to put the twirled chip back into.
Note #2
Although it is possible to spin the chip and slide it back into place without picking it up, not only does it not look as unique, but it defeats the purpose of the trick. The J Factor in this trick is the jump the chip must make into it’s original slot.

Thumbs up Re: J Factor - Poker Chip Trick

Thanks for the info on this trick. I can never get my spastic hands to do anything other than shuffle chips. I can actually do this one!
Great trick for the dexterity-challenged.
