Well, here is my first attempt at building tower or spirals. I first started with my Paulson shaped in-lays and then busted out the Pharaohs. The plaques seemed lonely so I thought I'd give that a go. After 100 high on the plaques I got scared and built a second plaque tower. When I had a pic of that I decided to try and put all 150 plaques in the tower and to my amazement I pulled it off!

OK, now it's time to try and stack all the plaques up...
..of course the kids saw me doing this and had to start their own -- more to come on this one....

i've done a 1000 chip spiral before and it comes nowhere near the size of shannon's spirals
the coolest part is how stable those babies are...if you've never built one you really wouldn't expect it.
You got that right Matt -- in fact after I got done all I could think about was, "Wow, I've got even more respect for 2_hotty and many others that have posted up pics of towers." And with respect to how stable it is, I too thought about how engineers might use this sort of design -- amazingly stable. I have at least another 40 to 60 high I can go on the Pharaoh Tower -- that will be tomorrow after Caitlyn is done with hers. I didn't want to stop her from doing her own thing. Thanks for nice words. The Twin towers are still up and will be for a while.
