Wow guys, thanks for the comments!
To answer a couple questions:
Stevo: Girls, yes... I've heard of those. No, actually, the girlfriend watched me build it. After I took pics, she asked "So, Do I get to knock it down now?" ...She knows I can't say no to her. Well, musn't is a better word than can't.
Ranman: You asked what chips I'm buying next. Well, as a former dealer, I'm actually very, very picky about what I get my hands on. I'm sure that's perfectly understood by this group. For the price, I am moderatly happy with these NJs, mostly because of the weight, partly because of the texturing (even if it is just a big heavy.) Again I mention, for the price.. What I really want are the Paulson Tophat and Cane mold chips--not the current consumer version either. I've got a short stack of Paulson JBs that I bought from fivestar four or five years ago. I increased my order to about 100 chips, it was only afterward I learned that BC took them over, and they have that light, nasty, sharp-edged, clamshell mold on them. I couldn't return them, of course, because fivestar did produce the proper picture when I went to reorder--I just didn't look closely enough at them.
As for the time that I spent on this stack: About 2 hours total (CSI was on reruns,) but that included two 3-twists on the sides that I originally had arching toward the base. I realized that what I was imagining would take many, many more chips than the meager 400 that I now own. So, I just went for height.
Again, thanks for the welcome, and the kind words from posters like 7thSeat and Nugzy really made my day!
