I thought the village was amazing just from the one or two pics I saw in the "Show your chips" thread. Having seen all the rest I am absolutely blown away by it - your kids and you did amazing work. If you ever feel like resurecting the village I can send you something to add to it for the pics:
Let me know if you are interested

Either way, it might give the kids and I some inspiration to rebuild a different village over X-mas break. Thanks so much for the offer! |

I have posters from each of the movies in my poker room, and am also a Pharaoh's owner (although admittedly not in your league). Have your kids read the books... I am reading The Fellowship of the Rings to my 11 and 6 year olds right now....almost into Moria.
Take care, cool set up. |

Take care, cool set up. | Hey Compost -- No, we have not read the books but I think your post has inspired me to do so. Best as I can offer is the time we watched all 3 movies in a row one time. Are there parts of the book you don't read due to violence & the 6 year old? I know I don't let 8 yr old daughter watch all the parts of the movies. |

Chips: 56 | | | Re: Pharaoh Village No, I am not too worried about the violent parts in the books, as they are far scarier in the movies than they are in print. I have not let them watch the movies yet...the rule is they have to have read the book first.
As far as watching all three movies in a row, I went to the screening in the theatre when the showed the extended versions of the first two, followed by the premiere of the third. Got to the theatre at 11 am, got home at 1 am. Half hour breaks between each movie. Awesome.
Definitely read the books. Like most movies made from books, the books are much better. |
