The latest of ceramic chips from Epokerdeals are called "Gambler" brand or "El Jugador" brand ("The Player" in Spanish). With a small fee you can customize the denomination or even replace the dollar $ with another currency symbol such as "£ or € ". Or even better replace the Gambler or El Jugador with your last or first name.
Pros
Beautiful design.
Well color coordinated scheme.
Great price for custom name and denomination chips.
Cons
Too dull in color.
Edge is not smooth and bevel with the top chips; this causes a sharp feel to the chip.
The denominations $500, $1000, and $5000 to similar in color.
Price
About a $1 per chip; .86 cents if on sale.
Feel
The face feels very smooth, much more refined than Chipco chips. Like most ceramic chips, the edging is glossy and have a slippery feel to them. The edges feel very sharp especially where the top meets the edge. If you compare them to Chipco, Chipco edges are rounded off and flush. These chips do not flush which cause them to have a sharp feel to them.
Stacking
They stack very well.
Sound
They have a "thud" sound to them; less of the clicking sound.
Looks
The chips themselves look very nice. The design is well crafted. The color scheme is well coordinated. You have four suited and two on each side of the chips. The word EL Jugador or Gambler is well placed in the middle and so is the denomination is right below it.
Security/Originality
There is fairly good security with these chips. Once you custom your name no one else will have….unlikely. You will not likely find extra chips "sneaking" into your home game.
Durability
Like most ceramic they are very durable.
Reviewers Comments
When I first saw these chips in concept it wows me. It took a few months of waiting before the sample arrived; once arrived I was a bit disappointed. If you look at the picture (first concept) and the rest (actual chips). I was expecting the color of the chips to be vibrant in color and the back ground with two tones. The first off let discuss the back ground; the two tone is so blend in that you loose the detail. Second the over all of the set is too dull; it makes the chips hard to tell between them. Example, the $100 (Black back ground) $500 (Purple back ground), and $5000 (Light purple). This could cost confusion on the table. The only way to tell between them is the edge spot.
These will have my stamp of approval if they flush the top and the edge. You could tell and feel if you touch the edge and the top of chips, you will feel the sharp edge. The edge spot could use some improvement, not much to show for. The edge spot is coordinating same as the back ground color. For example, the $25 chips the main back color is green the edge spot is also green. That is the same thyme with other chips count too.
All in all these are very beautiful design, reasonable price for custom chips, and look for it goes on sale for a better bargain.
