WSOP Replicas by Sunfly Review

WSOP Replicas with aligned edgespots and textured surface

Manufacturer: Sunfly
Retailer(s): MrChip aka Matt @ www.mrchip.eu
Average Price: 89 cents delivered with aligned edgespots, 69 cents w/o aligned edgespots (available with textured finish or smooth finish)
Material: ceramic
Price: 82 cents per chip delivered for textured finish and aligned edgespots during the groupbuy

Feel
The feel of these chips is very much like the actual WSOP chips. I played in 3 events this past summer and these chips are as close as you are going to get. I feel like I am there when we break these out. My initial order was for 650 and upon inspection of them I have yet to find any flaws of any kind. Since the initial order, I have ordered 650 more. All chips are aligned with textured surface. They are quite easy to shuffle, not as easy as clay, but not at all difficult and I'm not great with the chip tricks.
Stacking
They stack very well. I amassed a stack of 200 with no problem. I could have went higher, but I don't see many stacks of 200 in tourneys or at the casino. In stacks of twenty they are easy to move around. The textured surface most likely assists in this. I took 4 stacks of 20 chips and moved them in, as to push them "all in" and they moved quite well. None of the stacks fell over or lost chips on the bottom. I also tested the stacks of 20 by bumping the table 5 different times. Not one of the stacks fell over.

Sound
The sound when shuffling the chips is very similar to Bud Jones chips. They don't sound like some other ceramics I have. These are a bit more noticeable in sound pitch. I have other ceramic chips and they seem to be more "dull" in sound than the WSOP chips. When comparing them to my custom ceramics by ABC, they are alot easier to shuffle. These seem "less slick" and easier to control than my customs.
Looks

The look of these chips is truly amazing. At first I wasn't even going to buy these because I figure they will change pretty much year to year. But when my sample set arrived I was floored. They look so much like the real thing it is amazing. With the look and the feel of these chips, anyone in your home game should feel like they are in Vegas. The colors are very bright and shiny. I just hosted a 2 table tournament over the weekend and these looked great on the table. My regulars were very happy with them, they were the talk of the night for the first hour of the game. I just received my 3rd shipment, bringing the total to 1300 chips. I went ahead and bought some 10K, 25K and 50K chips for big stack tournaments (and just because I wanted to have the big ones). I think I might have to change my favorite from the 5K to the 25K. It is a great looking chip.

Security/Originality
One thing to note, these chips can be fully customized through Mr. Chip for a slightly higher price. The wording, color combos, denominations and edgespots can be altered for a more custom look. I went with what they offer because I might want to make the set larger at some point, so finding some later down the road will be easier than if I had them customized.
Durability
I am not sure of the durability of these chips as I have only had ceramics for a few months, but I can say they hold up well from being shuffled and splashed in the pot. I also think with the textured surface they have a better chance of remaining scratch-free. The surface wear will be my only concern with these chips, but I think I have that concern with all my chips.
Reviewers Comments
I highly recommend these chips to anyone looking for a great set of ceramic chips, custom or not, to add to their collection. I know there are alot of WSOP replicas out there, but I don't think there is a nicer looking one available. Oh, did I mention aligned edgespots. It is worth the extra expense to get these. I know alot of people that only like clay chips, I was one of those people until I played with these chips. I still love my Paulsons, but these are great chips and the quality is that of the real thing, so you won't be disappointed. I would also like to point out that the turn-around time on these is amazing. I received my 2nd order the Friday before Christmas, and the 3rd order on January 2nd. So, if you are looking for some high quality ceramics and don't want to wait around forever to get them, why not give these a try?
