Labels on non-recessed chips

Hey all,

First post here. Nice to have found the site. I'm wondering if anyone has had any success or failure with labeling non-recessed chips. I have an AKQJ Suited chipset and have designed labels for them. I ordered a sample of my design to see how my colors and design worked. For the most part, I'm pleased with them, except I think I might change my green design.

With the sample, though, I'm only able to label 5 chips, so I can't get a good feel for the effects it will have on stacking, shuffling, sliding on the table, and so on. There is definitely a thickness issue, but I don't think it would have too great of an impact on stacks of 20-30, and they actually slide a little less.

I'm inclined to think that it won't be a huge deal, but am curious about any feedback you might have with firsthand experience.

I've included a picture of my labels as well - and welcome any feedback!

Thanks!

EDIT: How can I get the small thumbnail image to show up as I've seen in other posts, rather than just the link?
Hi John,
Welcome to the Forum & Chip Obsession. Your chips can be labeled even though they aren't recessed. I couldn't tell what skyline that was... didn't look like Austin. Might be nice if the denoms were either consistent or matched a chip color. ky70 did up some w/ a Chicago skyline that came out nice.

Here are a couple links...

Thanks for the welcome!! Yeah, I know that I can label them. I just don't want to take the time to stick 1300 labels on my chips, only to find that the extra thickness and edges are too annoying to deal with. LOL So I thought I'd poll for some first hand experience.

The denom colors, I used the color from the gradient circle in the sky. With the main label color matching the chip, I'm not sure how I'd do the denom in the same color. Suggestions?

As to the skyline, it is in fact Austin. If you're familiar with Austin, that shot was taken from the South First St. bridge. If you're familiar with Austin from a few years back but not currently, then the Frost Bank building on the far left is new to you.

Thanks again!
~John

For sure labeling I hear sux but worth it! I meant that a lot of folks have labeled there non-recessed chips and thickness etc... was acceptable.

The gradient looks good and appears you matched the color nicely. Maybe just do all the denoms in stroked white or in some white shape and match the spot color. Post drafts for comments.
