Chips: 129 | | | Cubsfan970's texas holdem labels I know they are no Paulsons but they were free. Until I decide to upgrade, I wanted to add a label to them and I came up with a Cancun theme. The places are all clubs in Cancun that I have been to. I still have to tweak the colors to match the label on some of the chips. Do you think it would be better to make the background white and maybe the text match the chip color so that any difference wouldn't be as noticeable?
I'm thinking about changing $10 blue to a NV chip. After reading the posts on this site, it seems that a $10 chip is not really needed. My intent is to play cash games and maybe host some tournaments. Would it be better to change the 50˘ chip to say 25˘ and have 25˘/$1/$5 for the cash games?
Any suggestions or comments would be much appreciated. |

Chips: 88 | | | Hey, that's a neat idea.
Yup, change the 50 cents to 25 cents chip, that is more useful and $10 chip is really not needed unless you play a lot of 5/10 or 10/20, then it can be useful.
just my 2 cents. |

Chips: 158 | | | Make blue 25c if you don't have a 5/10 or 10/20 game that can use $10 chips. Make purple 500 and leave the yellow NCV. Traditional chip values are good things. |

Chips: 1,513 | | | I would leave the green as $25, and make the blue a NCV, then you could use it however you want. I would also make the purple a $500, and leave the yellow as an NCV.
Trust me on these denoms.....I did not know this before I started my set....and now I am regretting it!! |

Chips: 156 | | | The texas Holdem chip is a great Label chip.
The cut of the label looks rough. To cure that, Coat the sheet with Krylon before you cut. And when you cut use a Very sharp tool. |

Chips: 129 | | | Thanks for all the tips.
To clarify... the labels shown in the picture are only hand cut samples while I try and figure out what I want. I am going ot have them printed by someone else. I've gotten sample labels from bestpokerchiplabels.com and they seem like a quality label. They are a vinyl label. I've put them through some abuse (eg. repeatedly scratching and wetting them) and they haven't shown any wear and they stick pretty well. I know most people on the site like Jason for labels but I haven't recieved any samples after a couple attempts. He might just be really busy.
One note about bestpoker labels, they cut each label after printing. I know some people are looking at scalloped labels. That might be another source for them. I asked them about the shaped labels and they responded that they try and discourage people form them because the edges are caught easier by nails and such. He hasn't given me what the price difference would be but when I find out, I will put up a post.
As far as the denominations, I would like to keep the set I have as open as possible but keep it within the standard color denoms as well. The set I have is as follows:
400 Purple
300 White
200 Red
100 Blue
100 Green
60 Black
200 Yellow
Based on that, I don't think I can make the blues 25˘ without buying more. Would it be okay to make the purples NCV and use them as 25˘ when needed, leaving it open to use them as $500 also?
I won a set of them and purchased a few more chips after reading a bit on this site. Seeing that most people recommend a 4-3-2-1 ratio in chips, I bought some purple and yellow. I know that there are a lot of chips in the set already but do youthink there is a need for say more black?
Again...thanks for all your help so far! |

Chips: 1,513 | | | I gotta be honest here when I say that I don't think Jason does samples...I many be wrong... but they are a high quality paper label and I think he would need to print an entire sheet at one time....not so good for a sample. Anyways...I would go with him no matter what...the price is outstanding, and he does superb work! |

Chips: 1,513 | | | Well now that I finished reading your post, sorry about that, I think that it is perfectly acceptable to make the purples NCV, as well as the yellows! That would make your set very versatile. If it was me buying these chips I would say get more black, it never hurts to have more chips.....even if their cheaper ones!! |

Chips: 129 | | | Thanks Captn. I think I'll just make the those two NV chips as you said.
Jason had emailed me and said he had sent a sample twice but I never got them. I just wanted to see what kind of material it was printed on (how it felt and such). I wasn't looking for a whole sheet...just a misprinted label. I would be willing to pay for it. Maybe I'll have to try contacting him again. From his website, it looks like he does a great job. I just found the other place when I didn't get a sample. I do agree taht his prices are better ($15 less for a 1000). |

Chips: 129 | | Here is another idea for my labels I was working on. I was thinking that I might want to skip the Cancun theme and go for something dealing with my company. It's a simple design but I'm not sure it if is too simple. Let me know what you think. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
