Chips: 8 | | | Thats it, thanks for the quick reply..
Has anyone used this, and if so does it work well? It seams a lot better than doing it by hand. |

Chips: 1,728 | | | I've seen some postings from people who have used it that it was faster to apply the labels by hand, and probably more accurately as well. Though having gone through the tedious task of applying labels (two sets now) I sure wish there was an easier way that was reasonably affordable. If I were to do it for someone else, I don't think I'd charge them anything less than $40 per hundered (and I'd probably be losing money at that rate), it's got to be a labor of love. |

Chips: 216 | | | I agree with PocketRocket 100%, the chip labeler is a total waste of money. I have labeled about 12 sets of ships and as tedious as it is, I can only imagine it taking 3-4 times longer to apply them with that press. If you do them by hand its 2 steps peel and stick, with the labeler you have to peel the label off, put in the device upside down after getting it unstuck from fingers and hope that you got it positioned right as at this moment the thing is already shaped like a banana from being peeled off the sheet (not always but enough to be aggrivating) then place the chip in there and press it on, take the chip out and repeat the procedure for the other side of the chip. /end of runon sentence |

Chips: 156 | | | I concur. I bought one back in December to see the product and it is a waste of money. It takes 3X's longer that doing it by hand.
After doing over 20000 labels by hand, I would love to find a product that would ease my Mental anguish after doing so many. But this I can tell you is Not the way.
Good Luck. |

Chips: 1,728 | | And if you have a chance to look carefully at casino chips before, you might end up being less picky about each label being perfectly centered Quote: |

Good Luck. | The trick to labeling chips is this:
1. Consume several adult beverages.
2. Put a good/funny movie (or 2) on TV that you have already seen, so you don't actually have to watch it, but can listen and look up at every once in a while.
3. Crank up the heat in the house and convince the wife/girlfriend to help you with it, and that being naked is part of the poker chip labeling "ritual" as you have found out on the internet.
Me: "No really, its true! Go check for yourself! It's kind of a grassroots thing with a funny story about a guy that gets caught naked putting on chip labels and it spread so now you are supposed to be naked while putting them on. See the irony? Taking it off while putting them on..?"
Her: "Hmmm, OK, is that heat up all the way?"
(This also gives you an opportunity to have some fun with the "bad" stickers instead of just throwing them away.) | | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
