High quality chips you can re label?

OK so according to a PGI sticky, the RHC mold is able to apply a decal and lam over the existing inlay. after looking at the grand victorias its very doubtful it will be able to be done. Im not sure if mint rhc's is what they are referring to because I have very used primaries and maybe they are worn down too much because its not very deep at all so unlikely a decal would fit in there,.

so my question is, is there any high quality clay chips (paulson or similar) that either come blank or have a deep enough middle to be able to easily put on custom labels and lams.

hope I made sense here

This custom ChipTalk link is built to show you only the real deal: Casino quality poker chips; Not the plastic chips that some sellers call "clay."

Re: High quality chips you can re label?

I labeled some RHC but I didn't use the laminated labels. (see my album) I used the diamondback $1's and $25's which were not as worn as the Grand Victoria's (judging by the looks of them.) There was a little extra room so laminated labels might work. Also could use the Treasure chips or maybe Freddies Club.

Yep. Last year the $1's were going pretty cheap. Like under 40c / chip. Not sure about the $5's.

There are some Tukwilla $1's on ebay right now that might work.

The Tropicana $1's from LAughlin (Live - $1 each) are pretty cool and easy to label

Re: High quality chips you can re label?

ASM Fleur-de-lis have a bit of a recess, and might take a (very thin) label. Some of the other molds can have their recesses scraped out, and will take a mold.

(You can check out the link in my sig for some pictures.)

They are easy to label with 2 mil thick vinyl labels. Does PGI offer labels like that?

I think asm a molds would be good candidates. They are the ones asm will hotstamp because they have a recess....I think.

Any mint or fairly mint Paulson chip will take a 2 mil vinyl label just fine. I don't think there's any need for lamination, you're not going to wear them enough to warrant it unless you're using them in a casino.

Some blank ASM molds could be labeled too, but thin vinyl is not a good material for this because there's a texture on the blanks. You need a thicker vinyl for something like horseheads, which label nicely with about a 5 mil label max IIRC.

Re: High quality chips you can re label?

thanks JM. I think I might try the PCR or AVALON and mill them down with a drill press to enable a label. But as you said lamination isnt really needed right? so would I really have to even grind them down if I am not using lamination??? or does the hotstamp markings cause a 'mess' when using thin vinyls? I would LOVE to have paulsons that are customized to my home game name.

also while I am on the PCR and Avalon theme, do they feel and sound just like the nationals or other home paulsons?
