Can ASM "A" Molds be Labelled ???

I purchased some of the ASM "A" Mold Kenmore's in the Chip Room's Halloween Sale.

Since they have inlays, can I apply a Label on the Inlay, like I can a Paulson ??

I'm thinking of another Labelling Project !!! I have never labelled ASM's.

Thanks

Get a curved metal pick. Use it to puncture the protective coating on the inlay, then pry off the entire inlay.

Then you can use the laminated polycarb labels from palm, and it's nearly a perfect flush match.

This thread is relevant to my interests. I have a pretty big A-mold labeling project coming up myself. I'm waiting for the label samples to come from PGI, though.

Get one of the steel picks you get at an auto parts store that has a straight point on one end and a hooked one on the other with the knurled aluminum handle in the middle. It will poke through that inlay easy because the length of it gives you leverage. Make sure you measure the inlay recess accurately for your new labels. Label makers should be able to cut them to that size.

Re: Can ASM "A" Molds be Labelled ???

Russ,

The inlay recess on the Lanes chips is 7/8" and I ordered (on advice of Mike Racer96) a label just a bit smaller 0.855" (instead of 0.875"). For me I live in the UK and couldn't risk getting a label too big, you can see from the 25 chip there is a little latitude left. For the good condition 25 and 100 chips there is no problem whatsoever in depth either; I would also guess the worn 1 and 5 would be okay too. Don't clean the chips in oxyclean like paulsons - they will disintegrate.

Good luck

Gav

Thanks Gav, I'll be carefull when ordering the labels. I'm hoping I can get them all real clean.

I'm still working on some others, but will either start on these before I change my mind. Lot's of work to get these labelled.

Re: Can ASM "A" Molds be Labelled ???

A very good point of order raised there Erik. I've not done them yet I was an idiot and left them at home instead of packing them when I flew out to Riyadh - so I am afraid it will be around Christmas when I get back. The slightly disintegrated chip I sent you was a warning of how not to clean ASMs - fortunately only 10 were affected as I did a sample clean.
