Although you won't be able to peel them off because they are embedded into the chip, you should be able to dig them out and insert a laminated label in the resulting hole. However, digging them out will alter the chips permanently. If the recessed area is deep enough, it might be better to add a thin label over the inlay. You can experiment when the chips arrive.

I picked up a large set of asm's here and was planning to apply labels to them, but when they arrived I found out they were not recessed (rookie mistake), i had no idea they would not be recessed (my first real clays). So now I am thinking that I want them hot stamped. Where and how do i get this done? so now that you have had a good laugh, thanks for any info.

Re: Hot stamp or sticker?

what about milling them down a bit to be able to apply labels?

I think I would try to do that just because Im not a fan of hotstamping. but if you like Hotstamping then might be a good easy choice.

Huh? Are you aware of any ASM chips this has worked on? If so, I apologize, but I'd be careful dispensing this advice without precedent.

You could call ASM (pokerchipsonline.com) and see if you send 'em back they'll do their stock hotstamping and give you a price. What mold are they? Or contact meatboy, cgraham86, or monkeydog and they could give you an idea about cost for custom dies/stamping or stock stamps.

Re: Hot stamp or sticker?

it was more of a suggestion to look into it and not really advice to do it.

Re: Hot stamp or sticker?

stickers seem to be undervalued here - at least the snoopy ones.

Also, now I want to get some ASM and use a dremel to see what happens.

Re: Hot stamp or sticker?

If you have inlayed ASM's you can pop the inlay off and replace with labels. There's a thread here where it was done and them came out pretty nicely.

They are actually two sets, 800 circle square and 600 horse head molds. These are bad phone pics. Anyway I thought about milling them out but I read somewhere here on ct that asm chips are brittle and would break easily. I'm not too crazy about hot stamps but I'm not totally opposed to them. I wanted to have to differently labeled chip sets. I really like them, I just wish I could put something on them because I know I will keep hearing, "what are these worth again." Thanks for all the info guys.
