Custom label - thoughts?

I'm in the process of creating a custom label for either Progens or PGI great wall series, haven't decided which ones yet.

Here is what I have so far based on my progen samples. (The peach/orange didn't scan well so I had to manully adjust the color). Looking for feedback What do you think?

This custom ChipTalk link is built to show you only the real deal: Casino quality poker chips; Not the plastic chips that some sellers call "clay."

love the concept. perhaps you want to consider drafting the text in white (like the blue 50) for all labels. add some consistency and makes them easier to read and makes them pop off the multi colored chips. also, assume you meant for the red to be 5? great concept though, really like this one.

Re: Custom label - thoughts?

Woody,

Welcome to chiptalk! I see your design is evolving a bit since you worked on it over at homepokertourney. I'm still not crazy about your font, and before you proceed you will want to make sure you are working in the right resolution. Right now it looks like your edges are pretty jagged. I noticed a really nice design being offered to all takers by a member named "DeiterStruik" over in another thread (http://www.chiptalk.net/forum/custom...t-mock-up.html).

-post#7 in that thread- I personally am a very big fan of the style of this chip and since he's offering the psd file up for free, you might want to take it as a starting point and replace the texas with Woody the woodpecker, adjusting the colors accordingly.

Just a thought.

I'm new to this whole design stuff, what is the correct resolution? Here is a single chip with no reduction in image size. Was trying to make them smaller to post.

Re: Custom label - thoughts?

For the progens resolution should be 300dpi and image size should be 1.10" I believe

My wife's father's name was woody, so if you use this design I'd love it if you hooked me up with some samples or maybe even a small headsup set.

thats would include bleed- the actual CUT image will be more like 1.101 on those chips so factor this in when you discuss this with your label supplier

If I use your design, I will definitely hook you up. It looks very good, and I am considering it. Even if I don't use your design I will see what I can do just for helping out. Would you still be interested?

However, I like taking on small projects like this just to learn and challenge myself. So I will probably go with something I create, even if it isn't the best. Last year I built a wooden jewelry box for my daughter and an card box out of oak with a flip up lid to store my new Modiano plastic cards. They aren't masterpieces, but I can say I designed them and created them.

If your interested in the card boxes, I have pictures here: Home Poker Tourney Forums
