Lazered, Dyed, Faux?

I recall seeing some pics posted recently of lazered, dyed, Faux by Jason (H4tfan). The pics were a comparison of 'Dye before Lazer' versus 'Dye after Lazer'. The trouble is I can't find the pics now.

Can anyone link please?

Re: Lazered, Dyed, Faux?

Thanks Vince, however, those are not the pics.

I recall that the pics I'm after showed a couple of chips posed outside, with comparisons of lazer before dye and dye before lazer.

Re: Lazered, Dyed, Faux?

Ah, okay.

Well, it's pretty obviously what these chips looked like though.

Lazering before dying:
If you lazer the white fauxs first and dye them afterwards they will have the same color overall. The whole chip including the lazered area.

Dying before lazering:
If you lazer the fauxs after you dyed them, the actual lazered area will be white since you lazer off the dyed surface of the white chip.

I'd prefer the second, because it will make the "lazerstamp" more noticable.
