Any help or suggestions would be appreciated:

I want to make my own custom label, but need a little help with my settings. I am using Photoshop CS3.

If anyone knows, how can I make a Perfect circle in my document, I do not want a very slightly distorted circle which is the problem I have with the Circular Marquee Tool.

If anybody has a finished Photoshop File (.PSD) that they are willing to allow me to use for learning purposes that would be an Incredible Help!

These are my New Document settings shown below. Any suggestions/changes?? (This Is Going To Be For PI Clay Labels)


Again, anything you have to add would be greatly appreciated!

Hold down shift while using the circle tool.

If you have Illustrator, you may want to use that instead. If you do have that, then you can just use the circle tool, click once, and it will ask you for your dimensions.

Will any Adobe Illustrator work for designing some chips? Reason for my asking is that my aunt isn't using her illustrator 9 education Edition and if it would work just as good, i will get it.

Make sure you change the resolution from 72 to at least 300 pixels/inch. If you leave the settings as-is, you'll wind up with a tiny canvas (91X91px)! 300ppi should give you a canvas size of 378X378px.

As others have said, you can hold shift when creating your circle, or you can choose 'fixed aspect ratio' on the toolbar to control this for you. If you know how large you want your circle to be, you can also choose 'fixed size' and input the specific pixel dimensions.

Yes, Illustrator 9 will work just fine. In fact I would much rather use it than Photoshop CS3 for designing chips!

Thanks for the input and suggestions, below are my preliminary attempts. Comments and Thoughts welcome!

In photoshop you will have to make two circles to get a circle outline.

Make one circle with the marque and fill it, than make another one smaller and than merge them.

But use ilistrator, it creates raster imageses. Much better for small detail.

I did a search & found some conflicting numbers ....
