also there seems to be alot less shrinkage with this new stuff-- the key to eliminating any shrinkage weve found is to let the material dry for at least 2-3 days-- the solvents HAVE to outgass fully otherwise weve seen shrinkage occur as have others who make labels
Weve found paulsons, BCC and ASM chips cannot accept lamination and vinyl- the recessed area just isnt deep enough
For the paulsons- a precise cut is crucial for a good looking job--but theyre tedious to do using thin vinyl becaause the vinyl doesnt hold its shape making application a real pain- though others have done it succesfully.
I'll keep you posted on how the new stuff works out- were gonna do some paulsons in a few weeks for someone and we can use these as a test |
Thank you for that helpful Info Joe!
I don´t have any needs to hurry, except my own patience

Regarding the Labels, i have sample of Michael Ody´s custom Chips here. I peeled one label off and it seems like the thickness will work. I cant test it really good bc they are bigger in diameter than the recessed area on my PCR´s.
Getting the laminated, textured labels like on those samplechips or some that are equal in feel and durability, will be the only way i want to go if i label the chips. I wouldn´t put the vinyl labels without lamination on them. IMHO they look like stickers and that is exactly what i dont want the labels to look like.
If you have some news for me, just let me know. But there is no need to hurry.
