Welcome to chiptalk!

Yes, of all the dice chips i have seen, there is no recessed area in the middle for the label to rest into...the center area is flush with the outer rim of the chip. So, you are adding to the thickness of the stacks with a label. Since the labels are touching when the chips are stacked, I'll bet the chips don't slide around as much. But beware, they might wear faster.

I'm in the process of finalizing a label design for my horseheads, I hope I don't run into this same problem

Re: thickness

Time to store your chips in one of those aluminium cases. They fit 53 paulsons in a row so plenty of room for your labelled dice chips.

Are you going to post a picture of your new labels?

Re: thickness

i got from the same online store black, white, red and green chips, all same style. This ugly effect applied only to the black and white chips for some reason. Not only they wont fit in the rack but when you pile them up the whole stack would bend and fall.
Now why would the red and green chips fit in the rack perfectly? mistery

Re: thickness

A combination of chip weight and the labels creating a space between each chip to teeter then topple over. How many can you stack before they timber!!!?

Re: thickness

even though you got them from the same store, they could have easily come from different sources and be made slightly differently.

You should be fine with 2 mil vinyl labels.

As long as you're using vinyl labels you shouldn't, horseheads have a recessed inlay area that is perfect for labels.
