Should I Label My Faux Clays

Alas, I come to the masses with a question that has haunted me for some time now. Shall I label my Faux Clays or shall I leave them pure and pristine as Mother Nature made them?

"But Josh, what will the label look like? That would influence my voting a great deal!"

The design itself is up in the air, but the "theme" will be Three Putt Poker (Google it and read the article in the first link if you don't know what it is).

Re: Should I Label My Faux Clays

I don't have experience with labeling FCs, but they just don't seem to have enough of a recessed area to me to warrant labeling. I'd be worried about the effects on stacking and label longevity. Wish they were more like Nexgens in this regard.

Re: Should I Label My Faux Clays

I agree with the previous poster - the lack of a recessed area makes it tough. And let's say you get your labels from HogWild - you are putting 11-12 cents of labels onto a 4.5 cent chip (or a 25 cent chip if you got extinct colors recently). If there was a precise way to grind down the center of a FC and create a recess, that would be something. If you want to label a FC, get it lasered!

Re: Should I Label My Faux Clays

Ink stamp them. no worries about label rub or labels stiking together. I haven't labeled any so I am not an authority on it, but I know you can get custom rubber stamps made fairly inexpensively - I have the contact onfo for the lady on ebay who does it if you need it

I've strongly considered this option as well....gotta do a bit more searching around here for pics of the process/results.

Re: Should I Label My Faux Clays

I have ink stamped some (tourney set) and labeled some (cash). As far as looks go, you can't beat the labels. Stamps are cheaper, but you can screw them up unlike the labels which are pretty easy to apply.
If you go vinyl they really don't affect stacking much at all, either. You should definitely do one or the other though, imo each is a big improvement over the naked faux.

edited to add some pics:

Re: Should I Label My Faux Clays

Mike, those are some of the nicest labeled Faux Clays I've seen. Very nice, sir! I never get sick of seeing them.

I'm leaning towards stamping them with NCV values in order to be somewhat versatile: 25, 100, 500, 1000, 5000, 10000.

Seems like I should go with the following ink color on the respective chip color:
Blue: White/Silver
Black: White/Silver
Purple: White/Silver (maybe black?)
Yellow: Black
Orange: Black
Grey: Black
