Relabeling Paulsons w/The Poker Chip Customizer

The software (http://www.chipcustomizer.com/site.html) is pretty rudimentary and kinda weak, but the Label Placement Template is the bomb at least for 7/8" inlays. Little plastic doohickey that holds chip in alignment while you place the label. Speeds process up quite nicely. Sorry, BigBrando, should have let you borrow it when I sent you the PCC labels!

Re: Relabeling Paulsons w/The Poker Chip Customizer

I just labels half my faux with vinyl labels from PCC and had absolutely no problem adjusting them on the chip. I wouldn't personally need a tool like that. If it's not place perfect, pull it off and put it on again, no big deal at all.

You can see it on home page (link in OP) and dice chip size labels--about 15/16", I think--is all it is designed to work with although it works fine with slightly smaller Paulson inlays. Vince is absolutely correct. It's not a major improvement over "eyeball" alignment but it can be handy. Hope this helps.

Re: Relabeling Paulsons w/The Poker Chip Customizer

Hi,
I'm actualy the owner of The Original Poker Chip Customizer, so I'd be happy to take any questions directly about the software or the labeling kit.

The labels work on any poker chip that has a 15/16" inlay. The labels are slightly smaller then 15/16" so that when you place them in the center of that size inlay, there is a little space between the label and the edge incase you are slightly off on your placements.

The label placement tool picture can be found on the products page on the website towards the bottom.

The software is a meant to help you design your chip label and is flexible enough to allow you to print on a single label or whole label sheet. You can also choose your starting label. If you don't have photoshop and don't want to work with .eps files, the software is great to create what you need. I'd be happy to show samples if anyone is interested, and I'd be happy to give a discount of the standard or deluxe units to any readers of this forum.

Re: Relabeling Paulsons w/The Poker Chip Customizer

i got the chipcustomiser and i really do like it. I am far from being an artist and it comes with 142 backgrounds a lot which are very useful. Also it is very easy to use. I was creating labels within 5 minutes. I do wish the labels were just a tad bigger because like he said in his post there is a little space left over. Overall pretty cool product glad i bought it.

Re: Relabeling Paulsons w/The Poker Chip Customizer

How do the labels stack up to something like what you would get from HogWild? How durable are these puppies? Are they vinyl?

The labels only work going through an inket printer, or can laserjets work alright also? The laserjet might put down a more durable ink....I can imagine that the inkjets end up using a ton of ink if you have a colorful inlay, and that that could add to the end cost significantly.

Guess that I should look around from some 15/16 inlay chips....I was going to do a bunch of MOnaco's with labels from Hogwild for my groomsmen (about 3,000 chips total) but this might be a good option to save me a bit of money....only half the guys would seriously use the chips anyways.

The dice are nice, but I'm sure that there are many more to choose from...

Re: Relabeling Paulsons w/The Poker Chip Customizer

The labeling kit is meant to be an inexpensive solution to doing things like you're doing. As for how they handle, you are correct, these are not vinyl labels - but they are purposely not vinyl since there are few people that actually have printers capable of printing on vinyl, and I wanted this to be a kit that almost everyone can use (just need a windows based computer and a printer).

The ink will react the same way ink reacts when you print a picture out on photo paper. Different printers use different ink, some ink is fade and scratch resistant, some is not. So, it really depends on what type of ink you have for your printer. Most printers though that print inkjet make chips that hold up pretty well. The chips are not indestructible, but the labels are cheap enough where you make a few extra incase you destroy one. I've been playing with my own personal set for over a year, once a week games and my chips look just as good as when I made them, but I've seen people who throw the chips in their pockets with keys and the keys can scratch them up.

This kit works with any of the 15/16" center chips (which is pretty much everything out there in the retail market), so you can pick up the chips you like from anywhere and just get the labeling kit with some extra labels and you're good to go.

As for your ink use question, you can play around with your inkjet setting to get the best quality at the lowest setting for your ink. The labels are photo quality labels, but if you're printing something other then a photo, you can probably put the setting down on your ink printer to save some ink when it prints.

The online companies are great if you want one image on all the chips and don't mind spending the extra money. The difference between our kit and there product is that we give you the ability to print one to however many labels of the same image, so you can put a different image on every chip if you want or even print one label and see if you like it before committing to printing thousands of labels of the same image. Since it's a do it yourself kit, you can play around with the look of the chip and print what you want on however many chips you want.

Hope that answered your question.
