| Re: Relabeling Paulsons w/The Poker Chip Customizer The labeling kit is meant to be an inexpensive solution to doing things like you're doing. As for how they handle, you are correct, these are not vinyl labels - but they are purposely not vinyl since there are few people that actually have printers capable of printing on vinyl, and I wanted this to be a kit that almost everyone can use (just need a windows based computer and a printer).
The ink will react the same way ink reacts when you print a picture out on photo paper. Different printers use different ink, some ink is fade and scratch resistant, some is not. So, it really depends on what type of ink you have for your printer. Most printers though that print inkjet make chips that hold up pretty well. The chips are not indestructible, but the labels are cheap enough where you make a few extra incase you destroy one. I've been playing with my own personal set for over a year, once a week games and my chips look just as good as when I made them, but I've seen people who throw the chips in their pockets with keys and the keys can scratch them up.
This kit works with any of the 15/16" center chips (which is pretty much everything out there in the retail market), so you can pick up the chips you like from anywhere and just get the labeling kit with some extra labels and you're good to go.
As for your ink use question, you can play around with your inkjet setting to get the best quality at the lowest setting for your ink. The labels are photo quality labels, but if you're printing something other then a photo, you can probably put the setting down on your ink printer to save some ink when it prints.
The online companies are great if you want one image on all the chips and don't mind spending the extra money. The difference between our kit and there product is that we give you the ability to print one to however many labels of the same image, so you can put a different image on every chip if you want or even print one label and see if you like it before committing to printing thousands of labels of the same image. Since it's a do it yourself kit, you can play around with the look of the chip and print what you want on however many chips you want.
Hope that answered your question.
