Why no label samples???. Discuss Why no label samples???, on ChipTalk.net the place to go for your Poker chips and gambling tips. Read it in Poker Chip Labeling.
I see that all these chip sites you can order samples to see if you like the chips.Well why don't the label sites offer samples to see if people want lables or custom chips made? They could do a run of sample labels that shows what they can do, they could even say sample on them. For a couple bucks you could get say 20 labels enough to do a stack of 10 chips. What do you guys think? Having had labels made for me earlier, I'll say it's a matter of price and time...
The labels that were used for a lot of chips here are special ordered from an industrial label manufacturer, and can cost upwards of $6 per sheet.
Secondly, you can't just do 10 labels of each design -- you have to print an entire sheet (which I believe can range from 30-60). It takes time for the printer to align the labels in the printer and make sure the design stays (relatively) centered in the label. This sometimes requires them to do a test run or two, and at $6 per sheet...
It's just not cost-effective for them to do 20 labels.
No i don't want 20 of my own design, i just want 20 labels with any random design. They could even be mistakes, it would not cost much to do it, and if it landed label jobs would be worth it.I would be willing to pay a couple dollars for the samples.I make Custom Poker Tables and if i get a contact that wants more info. i'm willing to send them a 3" X 5" sample of the cloth and vinyl at my cost. This seems to easy thats why i can't see why its not done. I think what hes saying is he wants samples to see the quality of the labels, how they fit, etc. Like maybe the company makes a batch of labels with their own design and maybe their url, and then sells them 10-20 at a time so people can see how they are before paying for a full set.
Have you tried emailing any of the label companies to see if you can get a few to use as samples? Im sure they will have some extras or some bad prints that they could give/sell to you so you can judge the quality.
