Chips: 65 | | | Nexgen Bee design. Any comments? Hi,
I’m a newbie here and want to show some of my inlay designs. I’m looking forward to buying a set of lucky bee’s in the next few days. Unfortunately they will cost in Germany about $0,33 per chip. Are there any alternatives in Germany or Europe?
My ideas for labels is to use a mix of the different Paulson inlay designs’. These two versions are my favourites and only differ from each other in their colours.
And the second version.
What do you think? And which colour is the best for the $25 chip. I know green is the official colour but the blue chip looks so much better. Maybe someone of you can show me these two colours stacked.
Any opinions or suggestions would be appreciated. |

I agree with poislb: I'd drop the text around the logo... it'll clean it up a bit, anyway. Also, the chip colours in this image may not be exactly accurate. For example, the black chip is really black (like, "#000000" black).
I have > 1200 hot-stamped lucky bees as a tournament set. I agree that the blue chip is much more attractive than the (rather bland) green. I have the green as my $25 and the blue is a $10 (mostly used for bounties; rarely used in T100 tournaments). I'm assuming you'll be running T5,000-T10,000 starting stack tournaments. Since your lowest denom chip probably won't get that much action (gets coloured up after the first few rounds), I'd stick with the green (you don't want your lowest denom to be the best looking anyway, right?!) and maybe use the blue as the T5,000 chip (instead of the white). Then you could either skip the whites completely (you probably don't need 6 denominations) or you could make some non-denom or bounty chips from the white (and/or red) chips. I could see you putting a beehive graphic where the denom would usually go... that might be cool!
That way, if you wanted these to double as a cash set (with T100 = 1 euro), then the white NCV could be your 1/2 euro chip (for 0.50/1.00 blinds).
Just an idea.
*EDIT* I see you have an eagle watermark behind the denom. I'll assume this is a personal thing for you, or is German-inspired or something. I think I'd prefer a beehive (or nothing on the denom chips and a full-contrast beehive on the non-denom), but that's just me. Great idea so far; love the bee graphic!

Chips: 65 | | | Re: Nexgen Bee design. Any comments? Thank you for your comments. I think I will be running T1000 tournaments so that I don’t need any $25 chip. My chip breakdown would be 200 blacks, 150 purples, 100 yellows and 50 whites. One problem solved.
Moreover I like the idea of the beehive very much. I only choose the eagle watermark because Paulson Pharaoh’s inlays show this watermark, too. But the beehive is definitive the better option.
Furthermore I don’t know how to deal with the problem of the wording around the label. I did some test prints at home and the text came out very clear and readable. Quote: |

By the way. What is the function of a bounty chip? Never heard about it. |

It could be assigned to the previous tournament winner, or you could have a game where everyone must buy a bounty chip, in addition to a buy-in, such that the prizes are awarded not only to top finishers of the tournament, but also to "hitmen" who knock out the most players. I once held a tournament where bounties were the only prizes (and everyone was given a bounty chip before the game).
I'm sure you can find more info by searching ChipTalk or google.
Other unusual chip types (in addition to bounty chips) are "Show'ems" and "Rabbit Hunting" chips. Basically, players purchase these before the tournament, and can use them to see a player's hand or to see the turn/river (after all other players fold, of course). See epokerdeals.com sells bounty and show'em chips with several of their sets. Other CT members have designed bounty, show'em, and rabbit-hunting chips, as well, which they might sell or trade (search ChipTalk). Definitely not required, but could be interested... add some variety to your games. |

Chips: 65 | | | Re: Nexgen Bee design. Any comments? Probably I will order from luckyriver.de because it is the only German shop, which offers the bee’s.
Shipping from USA to Germany is too expensive and if I haven’t got some luck I have to pay duty on.
Or do you know any other alternative? |

Chips: 1,000 | | | Re: Nexgen Bee design. Any comments? In that pricerange I know only one alternative:
Desert Sands China Clays from thechiproom.com
One of the sponsors here. The chips beat the crap out of Nexgens, and if you peel the label off, you have an awesome chip for custom vinyls... |
