so I have labels (63 to a sheet, similar, if not identical, to the labels from onlinelabels.com)
I set up the template from STOL...but the labels "drift"
in fact, on the last test page I printed, ONLY the last label actually was correct and centered
Does anyone have a template that will actually work if I just insert the graphic into it? I'm getting frustrated here...I've burned through 10 pages of labels already...
on test pages it SEEMS to be ok on plain paper...but I can't seem to get the labels to work properly.
I'm using a Konica color laser printer if it makes any difference...
Any tips? I've already aligned the printer...everything there looks fine (although I didn't run the calibration with a sheet of labels. Maybe I should?)
You have to run the calibration for sure. The way I did it when I printed some was to print them on plain paper and lay the page of labels over it and align it to the top left corner. Hold it up to the light and see how close things are. If there's a drift, then you have to adjust the space between labels in the program. You only want to chang it by about 1/100th of an inch or so each time till you get it lined up. Then make sure you put the labels in the printer in the same orientation as the paper you are using to line it up. In otherwords, you want the top left corner of the label paper going in the same place as the top left corner of the plain paper. If you start it printing from the bottom of the page, it will all be off. There should be a little mark or something on the top of the label sheet to tell you its the top of the sheet. A little X or something in the corner. It takes a bit of time to tweak it all, so be patient.
