The ask and you shall receive thread... labelled Paulsons...

Well here they are. Ok, just a tease. I got 500 hotstamped Paulsons. Soon to have 550. Had an idea in my head. Contacted Hogwild. Contacted Lynbark. Thanks to Lynbark for the design help and Hog for the printing. The whole set cost me about $1 a chip and it's not remotely done in terms of getting them on, but here's a start...

Stack on right is labelled.

Sorry about the quality, my hands were shaking with excitement.

Sorry about the glare. I know it looks like the hotstamp beneath is creating "bumps" on the label but it's not.

Here is the rest of the work I have cut out for me...

I imagine I will be done within the month, but it is not easy... sand the hotstamp, clean the chip, oil the chip, apply the label, be happy, repeat.

Ok, ask questions, I will respond. Thus far, I am very happy with how they turned out. For what it is worth, these white chips will be the "worst" as they are casino used and cleaned and have almost no recess in the recess area. The rest should turn out great.

Oh yeah, labels don't effect stackability or sound or create spinners. Yeehaa!

Ok couple of questions:
What size label did you order?
Are those some National Casino Calgary paulsons?

Answered my other question regarding stackability and spinners in the post.

Thanks for posting! They look FAB-U- LAS!

Re: The ask and you shall receive thread... labelled Paulsons...

Based upon what people on the board said about shrinkage, I got 15/16's labels which I am told shrunk to about 7/8ths. I think in retrospect I would have gotten 1 inchers that would shrink to 15/16's, but I'm ok with the size.

Yes, the whites are Calgary Casinos. The others are from a fellow Board member who had custom Paulsons hotstamped from eons ago.

One day I may add to the set by getting a bunch of solids for a lower denom. Not sure about that, though - still trying to explain the whole thing to my wife.

I think the size came out perfect. Nice concentric circles.

A couple of questions:

1. Can you "feel" the hot stamp under the label?
2. Can you "see" the hot stamp under the label?

Thanks. By the way, nice inlay design.

Looks great Stevo!!

I had acrylic plaques cut and then had Hog print up some vinyl labels for them, but the marks left by the router really showed through. I figured the hot stamp would show through as well, but they look really nice. Thanks for posting the pics.

Re: The ask and you shall receive thread... labelled Paulsons...

To try to answer some of the questions...

You cannot see the hotstamp thru the inlay, that is for certain. I was concerned about that, but it is not the case.

You really can't feel the hotstamp either, but the hotstamp on the Calgary's was pretty worn down - not prominent at all.

I will try to clean and oil a few of the darker, purple chips tonight and put a couple labels on them. They have a different hotstamp design. I will say that based upon what others have said in the past, I have been gently sanding the hotstamps which makes them much smoother - the stamp, not the chip.

Re: The ask and you shall receive thread... labelled Paulsons...

After reviewing your pics for several hours(seriously....ok maybe not) I think I will probably order the 1" labels if they shink to 15/16'. The chips I plan to label will need the entire area covered. Once again thank you for this post, most informative.
