First off I want to say hi to the group as this is my first post. HI GROUP!!!
Now on to my question, which you might remember if you are a HPT forum reader. I was thinking of buying ASM chips, but I am on a budget and cannot spend the extra $.50 a chip for custom inlays. I have heard and seen some ASM's with custom labels. Now since I know this is an option, what is the best ASM chip for this? I have heard about the HH having slightly recessed centers but I am not partial to the HH mold. Also who would be the best to go thru for custom labels like this? I know any label would not do, would have to be vinyl and not paper. Has anyone had any luck with BPCL? Well I thank everyone for all the help on this matter.
Welcome aboard! I would suggest the HH mold. They are recessed and labels on them work perfectly. You want 7/8" and I know that Jason (Hogwild) who is one of our sponsers can hook you up. You can find him here http://www.chiptalk.net/forum/person...ps-com-offers/
I'm not sure if it is available yet, but you might look into the Fluer De Lis. I've not actually held one, but it looks from all photos that it has the deepest recess of any ASM, and the printable inlay area is larger than any of the standard molds. (It almost looks like ASM's version of a Grand inlay chip.)
I would like to than you for your help in this matter. I do like the HH mold it just wasn't my first choice, but I would rather have that than nexgens any day. I look forward to the task of labeling my new chips. And again guys thanks for the help.
where is the cheapest place to get a set of 500 ASMs?
As far as I know the only place to get ASM chips is through pokerchips.com. (Otherwise you may be able to find people who are selling chips from their own collection.)
You can find the pricing info for the various styles here:
Also, they are very kind to Chiptalk members and have been known to do things like make blank Horsehead mold chips for CTer's that aren't usually available to the general public. I'm not sure what the price for somthing like that is since it isn't listed, so you should call and see if they can work with you. A CT member named Clonexx got some blank HH's so he might be worth contacting for more info as well. Good luck!
There's a post on here somewhere with some cirlce/squares labeled.
I just received 400 ASM HH blanks for labeling last week. Cost about $260 shipped. That's .60 a piece. Damn bargain, if you start to look around, your choices for spotted clay chips are limited, it only took about 3 weeks to get my custom HH.
