| Hot stamping issues with 401's...helping a friend I know some people at this club I play at that finally got their chips with hot stamps in. As soon as I saw them they looked familiar to the 401 series from The Poker Chip Company. They are a solid color with 4 dragons going around the out perimeter of the chip (in fact, I'm positive they are the ones). Not even sure where they got them from, but they had them hot stamped somewhere else. Anyhow most of the chips are fractured we believe due to the hot stamping/process. No suprise to me, that chip is very soft and light. You can see the chip at the Poker Chip Company website where a hot stamp is done. Obviously they know how to get the hot stamp on without it fracturing the chip.
I tried looking for some reviews on the chip and found none. Even tried searching and still nothing. Was wondering what you guys know about the chip? So far what I know is the chip is soft (you can dig your finger nail in the chip easy), on the light side (they say 4grams on the website, but that can't be), probably around 8-9grams, decent texture and pretty flat so they should stack well, not very expensive. If there isn't a review on the chip I might do one if people are interested.
So I'm going to see what other options for a decent, but inexpensive chip they can go with. Can Faux Clays be hot stamped? Maybe some 10g Soprano's? They don't want to spend a lot of money since they need like 2000 chips.
